Jllt Minister calls for production of tea on commercial scale
KARACHI:As the pandemic tally in the province soared past 7,000 on Saturday, surpassing that of Punjab, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah ordered community surveillance to gauge the impact and spread of the coronaviru dunks women s.In a video statement, the CM, announcing that the province's tally had climbed to 7,102 with the emergence of 427 more cas af1 shadow es on Friday, directed relevant authorities to carry out seroprevalence studies as part of the planned community surveillance.Seroprevalence refers to the level of a pathogen in a population, as measured in blood serum. With results often presented as the percentage of total specimens tested or as the ratio of positive cases among every 100,000 persons, these studies can show how many people have been infected by the virus.The study will initially be conducted in two union councils (UCs) of Karachi, which has the highest incidence of the coronavirus in the province and also accou af1 nts for over a quarter of the nationwide tally. PESHAWAR: airmaxplus Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan will formally inaugurate the plant for Pakistan drive in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday at Shahkas Area adjacent to Mehsud Scouts of District Khyber under which five million saplings will be planted throughout the province.According to details 150,000 saplings will be planted in Peshawar alone whereas s orange dunks imilar plantation drive will be carried out by the district administrations, forest department, education department and all concerned line departments in all the districts of the province.It is per new balance tinent to mention here that under the previous PTI led provincial government one billion afforestation project was successfully completed due to which the forest cover of the province has increased by 6.3 per cent. Additionally the project also provided job opportunities to more than 500000 individuals, whereas according to the reports of World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the survival rate of the plantation i.e 88% was reported highly satisfactory
